Tom has more than forty-three years of combined design, management, plan review, code interpretation and enforcement and teaching experience in the built environment.
Since 2006, Mr. Campbell has worked primarily in the code enforcement of the States Model Codes, working as a consulting Building Official and Plans Examiner with several City Jurisdictions. It’s with this knowledge and experience that sets Lamfei Lin Builders ADU’s above comparable ADU’s offered by our competitors.
Prior to offering consulting services to Building and Safety Divisions at numerous City Jurisdictions, Tom participated for more than 20 years at the highest level in developing and disseminating ICBO’s (One of three Founding members of the ICC) Uniform Codes, with 15 years in management of its Education Program. As the Education Programs Manager for ICBO, his duties included directing work assignments relating to the development of technical publications based on the UBC, UPC, UMC, CEC, IBC and IRC for use in more than 200 classroom seminars with more than 20,000 participants, annually. Tom developed numerous educational seminars to provide critical information on the Uniform and International Codes to help architects, engineers, inspectors and code regulators understand and apply specific code regulations. During Mr. Campbell’s career, he delivered classroom instructional material to thousands of code enforcement personnel, architects, engineers and contractors throughout the western United States and Asian Pacific countries.
The greatest reward in Mr. Campbell’s career was in the capacity of an ICBO staff liaison and representative to one of five code development committees charged with developing the 2000 International Building Code, the first Model Building Code published by the ICC.
Tom was also a Senior Staff Engineer for the ICBO Evaluation Service where he evaluated new building materials and methods of construction that are used extensively in the construction of commercial and residential structures. He has over 20 years in the design, detail and plan review stages of industrial, commercial and residential structures and over two years instruction of fundamental building design to graduate and senior level college architectural students.
